Welcome to the website for Primary Health Care Education (PHCE). PHCE is the focus for GP education in Mid-Wessex.  PHCE is based at the University of Winchester and is in partnership with the Wessex Deanery to provide educational programmes both in hospital and in general practice for doctors training for a career in primary care. We provide support and advice for their trainers and monitor standards in training practices.  

We provide resources for primary heath care teams to meet their ongoing development needs, including seminars and workshops as well as postgraduate programmes. We provide support for GPs being appraised and for their appraisers. We work with PCTs to meet the learning needs that are generated by the GP appraisal process.

The University, where we are located, provides us with the opportunity to share ideas with a wider educational community.
